Welcome to the first instalment of my new series A-Z of  Natural Wellness and beauty! A is for…..Acai Berries!

This amazing superfruit is high in antioxidants and balanced in fibre and healthy fats thanks to Anthocyanins which give these berries their purple colour.  This super berry contains calcium, vitamin A and can assist with weight loss! A great way to strengthen your immune system, reduce inflammation, improve skin health and a good night’s rest and decrease heart disease.

Add these berries in concentrated form in a powder to smoothies or over yoghurt. Or add to this tasty Healthy granola bar recipe!

This is one of my favourite energising smoothies!

  1. 1/2cup acai berries
  2. 1/2 cup strawberries
  3. 1/2 cup blueberries
  4. 1/2 cup strawberries
  5. 100ml freshly pressed apple juice
  6. 1/2 cup frozen yoghurt / add frozen berries to 1 cup of plain yoghurt
  1. Mix all ingredients into a blender

This acai berry facemask will slow down your skin’s ageing process, lighten marks and scars and nourish your skin. Packed with antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids.

Mix 1 tablespoon acai berry powder with 1 tablespoon of greek yoghurt. Leave on face for 10minutes.
