Natural Dry Shampoo
With the current Cape Town water crisis, I’m excited to share DIY beauty and wellness tips in order to save every last drop! Dry shampoo can be costly when you are using it every second day between that once a week hair wash to save water. I’m so excited to share this cost-effective natural dry shampoo alternative!
Diy Dry Shampoo
A natural cost-effective alternative to dry shampoo
- 1/4 cup arrowroot/ corn starch powder
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder for dark hair
- 5 drops essential oil lavender or lemon oil for a fresh smell
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl and slowly stir while adding essential oils.
Transfer into an empty makeup compact powder container with a sifter or a glass jar.
Use a big powder brush or sprinkle lightly with the powder sifter over your hair roots. Gently massage into your roots and wait 2 minutes for the powder to absorb any excess oil or odour.
Brush through your hair
FOR BEST RESULTS:
For best results apply at night to your roots (without brushing) and wake up to fresh smelling hair, the lavender oil will also help you fall into a peaceful, restful sleep. While sleeping the powder will absorb all excess oils and odours.
